The ECOPLAST spacer is therefore an ecological and cost competitive
alternative to conventional recovered wood or composite fabricated spacers (Particle board, MDF... ).
Much lighter than spacers fabricated from recovered wood or composite material, EBLOC spacers offer significant advantages with respect to shipping and handling. As an example a 70 inch spacer weighs less than 4 pounds.
EBLOC has the advantage that its meets all international shipping regulations. The principal regulations target the guarantee of parasite-free material, either surface or content utilized to manufacture the product. Extrusion or injection-moulding (150 °c plus) process temperatures effectively sterilise the product, thus eliminating the presence of parasites.
ISO14000 standards relative to environmental management dictate that shipped material must be part of an integrated material management system. The fact that EBLOC is manufactured from entirely recycled products, 100 % resin and formaldehyde-free , in addition to being entirely recyclable in itself, gives favour to its use versus other shipping products.
New regulations with respect to landfill and incineration of waste matter, effective January 19, 2006* are comprised of conditions which obligate dry material landfill and incinerator operators to refuse industrial waste material such as particleboard. EBLOC being entirely manufactured from recycled products as well as being recyclable in itself is not subject to these conditions and is therefore an ecological and economical
solution to the above problems.
